Strategically located across Anbar and Nineveh Governorates, the Khliesiea Block represents one of Iraq’s most promising gas frontiers—combining national expertise, advanced technology, and a shared commitment to sustainable development.
Through innovation, responsibility, and precision, KAR OG KH BLOCK DMCC is transforming unexplored territories into a new source of energy, opportunity, and resilience—supporting Iraq’s long-term vision for energy security and economic diversification.
Key Milestones
- 2025: Completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), demining, non-technical surveys, and surface geological studies across the entire block.
- 2025–2026: A wide spectrum of the hydrocarbon exploration campaigns will be implemented to de-risking the potentiality of possessing the gas resources within Khliesiea Block, tackling main objectives, thru conducting a huge seismic acquisition surveys across the interested locations within the block. In alignment with the seismic survey running project, mine clearance will be up and running simultaneously in conjunction with the seismic survey to be able to define the optimal exploration well location that will spud in Q4 2026.
Each milestone underscores KAR’s disciplined approach to exploration stage — built on safety, technical excellence, and national value.
